General (sections 1–5) RulesFor PA competitions,

RFP velocity testing will be conducted using the chronograph approved by the NRC for that competition. ‘Magnum’ CF ammunition can be described as >600 Joules: though ammunition at or near this level will undoubtedly draw complaints from nearby shooters, range officials and spectators |
|
8.6.1.1 |
Shooters with a disability that requires them to require a ‘variation’ to this rule:
The wrist must be visibly free of support. It is reasonable for the range officials to ask a shooter to draw up any covering over the shooting hand wrist to inspect for any wrist support. It is reasonable for the range officials to insist that any tightly binding cuff over the shooting hand wrist be drawn up so that the wrist is seen to be unsupported |
|
8.6.4.3.5 |
This rule clearly states ‘one (1) minute’ and does not
state sixty (60) seconds: and the two things are very different! However, RFP shooters (including me – SCT) are a pedantic lot and expect something very close to 60 seconds: ROs should call ‘ATTENTION…’ within a few seconds of 60. |
|
8.6.6.2.1 |
The ‘correct’ procedure is for the RO to continue with the
series for the other shooters on the range section: adjacent shooters have
the option of unloading and claiming a disturbance. For PA competitions, it is acceptable for the RO to call ‘UNLOAD’, sort out the shooter concerned and restart the series from the ‘LOAD’ command after a one minute pause |
|
8.7 |
For PA competitions (25 m), for the first ‘allowable’ malfunction in a stage, the shooter is allowed to reshoot/complete even if he/she has had a ‘non-allowable’ malfunction previously in the stage. |
